Hi, I'm Dave Emme, President of Dre Films. Dre Films is a company that came about as an extension of the films I made for my own communities over the past three years. Though simply shot and edited, these films generated great excitement as many of the people had never been in or seen their friends in an edited film before. This excitement manifested as individual happiness and also served to bring the community closer together as everyone saw and related with each other on a new level. I wanted other communities to have access to this medium as well, and as I contemplated balancing my career and my passion, I realized that I had the power to bring it to them. I upgraded to professional quality video, sound and editing equipment and embarked on a quest to capture some screen time for the vibrant communities that never seemed to get the attention of documentary filmmakers. The difference between Dre Films and other film companies is that our films aren’t just about communities, they’re for communities. We’re not trying to sell your lives and hobbies to the world. We’re capturing the piece of it that only exists on film and handing it back to you so that you can find a deeper connection and joy in the groups, hobbies and people you already love.

About Dre Films

In the purest sense, Dre Films exists for the same reason that Hollywood exists; to transport you to places that you can’t otherwise go.  Hollywood creates fantastic stories to hold the audience’s interest, and this necessitates realistic characters and special effects to maintain believability.  Dre Films doesn’t use special effects and star actors to maintain believability because the stories and people are already real.  Witness the creative songwriting process of your favorite local band, or step onto the practice field with the phenomenal club sports players that you’ve seen, but never met.  Hear about their stories, their inspirations and laugh at their sense of humor (or total lack thereof).  Instead of getting to know a Hollywood character played by an actor, get to know people who are in your scene and in your life.  The people all around you are stars, accomplishing great things and leading interesting lives, they’ve just never had any screen time, until now.
